My name is Tom Amick. I have been interested in human powered vehicles since 2003 when I was a member of the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Human Powered Vehicle Team. Over the years I have had a great time learning about how to go faster on the very limited power that my body can produce. I have designed, and built some recumbent bikes over the years. Some of these recumbent bikes were designed for commuting, and others for racing. The one I am pictured on here is called Habu, and it is my most recent speed machine. With the generous help of my friend Larry Lem I have also had the opportunity to ride some very fast streamlined bicycles as well.
Photography is another one of my interests. In High School, and College I learned film photography with all the wonderful chemicals that were required. Now I am enjoying the digital world and all the convenience it offers. I like taking nature photographs the best. Most of the time I find myself documenting the daily things that occur in life. This becomes my image diary which I love to look back on with admiration.
